CMI manufactures the Intoxilyzer^® line of breath alcohol testers and related accessories. CMI utilizes the two most widely accepted methods for non-invasive alcohol testing analysis—infrared spectrometry (IR) and electrochemical fuel cell.

Intoxilyzers are used extensively by law enforcement agencies and in U.S. Department of Transportation- mandated and other industrial applications. All Intoxilyzer^® models featured on CMI Online are Department of Transportation approved and are on the NHTSA Conforming Products List.

The Intoxilyzer^® 5000 has been the standard for DUI evidential breath testing for many years. It utilizes infrared spectrometry breath analysis and is currently used in at least 40 states and several provinces of Canada. The 5000 is also widely used in DOT/industrial testing and nuclear power plant testing applications.  Accessories are available for the Intoxilyzer^® 5000.

CMI also features a full range of mobile Intoxilyzers which utilize highly reliable electrochemical fuel cells. The Intoxilyzer^® 240 and Intoxilyzer^® 240D is used extensively in DOT/industrial situations. This instrument was designed specifically for the new DOT testing applications. The Intoxilyzer^® 400PA and Intoxilyzer^® 300 are newer handheld fuel cell based testers that feature automatic breath sampling and ease of use. Both the 400 and 300 models are widely used in both law enforcement and DOT/industrial testing applications (the 300 can only be used for initial DOT-related alcohol testing.
